Clearly this necklace was once a flute!

A reversible necklace with the faces of two flute keys on one side and two onyx stones mounted on the other side. Leather cord and hand-crafted closure. All the metal components are made of solid silver aside from the keys.

History of this piece:

A musical professional wanted to give a unique gift to his wife, who was a flautist. He wanted a unique piece of jewellery that the public could appreciate and recognize easily – even from far away. The mission was to create a piece that was voluminous, lightweight, had an unmistakable appearance and could be comfortably worn while playing the flute.

At the request of the client, the necklace was made exclusively of recycled parts from flutes that had been played for many years. Also, wearability and the necklace’s aesthetic were identified as priorities above the conservation of the parts.

The stains on the front of one of the keys are due to changes in colour in the depth of the metal, the result of poor storage conditions that could have been endured over decades.
